ACLU Press Conference on La Porte drug screeningThe ACLU of Texas, Houston chapter, will hold a press conference concerning the unconstitutional drug screening policy of the City of La Porte In response to a complaint from a city employee and upon examination of the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy, The Houston Chapter of the ACLU has advised the City of La Porte in writing that their policy is constitutionally infirm and requested that it be changed to conform to the law. No adequate reply has come from the City of La Porte. At the press conference we will discuss the unconstitutional aspects of the Policy and the ACLU’s plan for further action, as well as matters concerning other violations of the Fourth Amendment.
